Windows 7.1 (project)

Post by Cosmo » Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:54 pm

After completing my work on XP-C I've decided to start a new project, this time using Windows 7!

It'll include all current Windows 7 updates out-of-box and aims to include support for some Windows 10 programs, such as Groove. I mainly wanted to do this as Windows 7's support is ending pretty soon and adding a bit of support with newer Windows 10 apps would be a cool addition.

It's currently in the early planning stages, and I want to hear your thoughts. What should I add?

I'm curious how Windows 10 application support can be implemented.

This sounds so good i would use this as my main even tho i normally would never consider using a modified version of Windows. My dream OS would be like a Windows 8 base because of the better File Explorer/taskmanager , UEFI support, USB 3.1 (it says a lot that 8.1 installs fine from a normal installer on my Ryzen build while 7 doesn't) but these could be implemented into 7 for sure i just haven't got any idea how but i'm sure you could figure it out (got no experience with making custom windows images if it isn't obvious). But i prefer full aero over 8/10s UI and having support for Windows 10 software like Adobe 2020 Suite or Dx12/UWP games would be amazing too. So i was constantly switching between 7/8 on my old build and now on 10 on my current PC and was never satisfied. Put the Ryzen/modern Intel patch in it too, i can't be the only one on a modern system wanting to use modern software who hates Windows 10 right?
