Longhorn 3663: Will it be leaked?

Post by Cosmo » Sun Feb 03, 2019 10:30 pm

According to https://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39409, earlier today, a user named "Bobby" posted information that he had Windows Longhorn 3663. Now, for those of you who are unaware, Build 3663 is the first known build of Longhorn to exist. A download for the *.iso file is no longer available and people who had download it decided to keep it for themselves. It bears resemblance to Windows XP, albeit with minor changes, but having this build available for everyone could be a huge milestone as it gives us a good idea of how Longhorn looked at its beginning.

Below are some screenshots of the build:

Windows Explorer. The default theme Plex, seen in 3683, is at a very early stage in development and is therefore only a modified version of the Windows XP Silver Theme. Another thing to note is that there are drive space indicators.

The Welcome Screen.

I remember getting an iso of that build in late 2014. I might have gotten it from a link in a YouTube video description but I was only 10 so I'm not sure. I want to think it's fake but I remember installing VirtualBox additions on it and that made it extremely glitchy and unusable. Was there a fake ISO?
