Speed up Windows 98

Post by smpark12 » Fri Jun 09, 2017 3:28 pm

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook E330, and it is very slow. I know, it's a Windows 98 computer. But it's extremely slow, even for Windows 98. Is there a way I can get it sped up? I turned off that annoying active desktop, which helped, but it still takes 2 minutes to get the start menu to open. Should I clean the registry or something? If anybody has an answer to this, please let me know! :D

If you have a copy of 98 and you're not concerned about the data on it a reinstall of the OS might help. What are the specs of the laptop?
