So I made this video to see if Windows XP Starter Edition can work with my computer running VMware, however it ran towards an unsupported state while forcing it to shut down. I'm curious to know if Windows XP Starter Edition would not have this problem on Virtualbox or if it's not reliable on a virtual machine?

Re: Windows XP Starter Edition (experiment)
I ran Starter in a VM on VMware Workstation in the video that I did on it and did not get any errors. My copy called itself XP Home Edition up until the OOBE, and used the standard Blue background during the setup process. Where did you get the version of Starter that you showed in the video? Maybe it's some unofficial copy that changed some things around.

I used the ISO from Michaels video and worked fine in VMware Workstation 12 Pro

I also tried it in VMware Workstation 12 Player no problems. How much RAM did you give the VM and how big was the Hard driveNewYorkEagle wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2018 10:47 pmSo I made this video to see if Windows XP Starter Edition can work with my computer running VMware, however it ran towards an unsupported state while forcing it to shut down. Re: Windows XP Starter Edition (experiment)
I was going to give it 512MB of RAM (the maximum it can allow), along with 40GB of hard disk space.nknight wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 12:55 amI also tried it in VMware Workstation 12 Player no problems.
