Windows XP downloadable official themes

Has anyone ever heard about the official downloadable Windows XP themes from Microsoft.com back around 2004-2007?

They were released about 2 years before Windows Vista was released to RTM (3 years if you count the general availability), and relatively few people ever downloaded these back in the day.

However, I was able to use the Wayback Machine from Internet Archive to get most of the installers for these official themes previously offered by Microsoft back in the 2000's.

Here's a link to the installers I have officially archived:

I've also hosted a topic about these themes to the Lost Media Wiki forums a while back, so you can find my topics from their.

What do you think about this forgotten Microsoft media I am preserving, thoughts & comments are very well appreciated.

I actually made a collection of these a few months ago, see: https://archive.org/download/christmastheme. However, yours has a few my collection's doesn't, so good work.

I was also working on one for the Windows 7 downloadable themes, although I've been stagnating with that due to laziness and lack of time.

I also did the same for the Windows 7-10 Themes as well.

Here's my link to the Modern Windows (7-10) themes:

Oh, cool. Also that 4GB file size is impressively large lol. I might download this huge pack later, as I like collecting rare crap on my HDDs.

I want to see both the downloadable Windows XP themes and the downloadable Windows 7 themes be demonstrated in a video on YouTube. Just to prevent the desktop themes from falling into obscurity.

I have just created a Zip file containing every official downloadable desktop themes included to create an unofficial standalone release of these desktop themes, without the hassle for installers. In addition, I translated the Portugueses and Chinese language desktop themes for variety.

Here's a link of my unofficial standalone release of these desktop themes:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NCkDUH ... p=drivesdk

The .SCR files included in the screensavers folder are optional, the desktop themes should work without problems.

I took a few liberties with the desktop themes (mostly with the wallpaper for the Embedded theme), so it's not like the original counterparts, but I just wanted to do this, just for variety. ;)

The screensavers should be put into the C:/Windows/system32 folder, while the desktop themes should be placed in the C:/Windows/Resources/Themes folder, if you know the respective locations to put these files on your Windows XP PC.

What do any of you think? Thoughts and comments are appreciated.
