Hello everyone, I am yubi.

I have recently been working on a project with another developer and a team of testers to give Microsoft Windows XP Professional (RTM/SP0) a new style to make it feel more similar to the beta-builds codenamed Whistler. We called this project Windows 2002 and this is the end result.

Changes made to the build include:

- New icons from Whistler
- Watercolor and Beta Luna theme added
- Build number changed from 5.1.2600 to 5.1.5001 (this may break compatibility with certain applications and utilities such as VMWare Tools)
- Windows XP Tour Removed
- Windows File Protection Disabled
- Modified branding in logon screen and other places
- Windows XP Setup replaced with Whistler 2296 setup
- Text Mode Setup modified to remove any mention of Windows XP

Credits to the Windows 2002 team and resources are as follows:

- Glosswired for SFX
- NermalCat for GFX
- Windows 2002 Tester Team: amoschampion, AO554, Nour T, HTFCirno2000
- Windows 2002 Development Team: Me, Glosswired (Developed M2 Build), Cosmo (helped out with M3)
- dblake1 for Luna Theme
- ebhefgyxp for Watercolor Theme

Tools used:

- nLite
- CL-Tools 4Win
- Oracle Virtualbox 6.1
- PowerISO
- signer (to sign NTOSKRNL.EXE and NTKRNLMP.EXE)
- Resource Hacker
- XN Resource Editor (for modifying Text Mode Setup)

I was really amazed at how far you came with this mod when you DM'd me on discord, I want to say thank you once again for giving me the opportunity to help make this mod of Windows XP.

Just goes to show that not all Windows XP Mods need all the bloatware and useless software, just clean and simple Whistler.

We've done a good job here. I personally feel the word needs to get out for mods like this (and Windows 2007), as not only it is non-bloated, it serves as a good alternate universe vision of Windows XP as it sticks quite well to Microsoft's style. Personally I feel the replacement wallpapers from earlier builds should've made it into the RTM, but ah well.
