Windows XP with Windows 10 NT Kernel

Post by DawsonWehage » Sat Dec 21, 2019 5:53 am

Hey guys, is there anyway possible that we could design Windows XP to work off the NT 10 Kernel? I remember seeing this in the past on another and he successfully was able to use the Windows 7 Kernel on Windows XP to support newer applications.

I'd be interested in a Windows 7/8 build thats capable to run Windows 10 apps, would be helpful for ones like me wanting to use modern software on modern hardware while not having to deal with any of 10's crap

Yea, I agree. 10 has a lot of stuff I don't like. I prefer the Aero Glass interface and the icons from 7.

I am creating a VM with Windows 10 1909 32-bit installed. I am planning to replace the explorer files with XP's similer files. This may not work, but I don't care. I can always reset the VM.

I tried something similar (Windows 10 with a windows 7 shell and kernel in windows sandbox (if you don't know what that is its a windows 10 VM completely isolated from the local machine and wipes after restart) but i was stupid enough to restart the VM which sadly, wiped the VM so ill have to try it on VMWare

also there are elements of 10 i don't like (such as the classic personalization settings gone) but putting those aside its quite good
