Geek XP
Re: Geek XP
This is bootable just like a normal xp disk, I'd suggest using Rufus: https://rufus.ie/
Re: Geek XP
Thanks, I saw your OS talked about on youtube, I am going to try it out soon!

Re: Geek XP
GXP41 runs great on my Dell D420. I tried installing East Asian languages in the control panel using an XP install disc I copied to my laptop. I did that successfully on a geniune copy of XP running on a Sony Vaio from 1999. I failed to install East Asian languages on GXP.
Makes me wonder, what are the ram requirements? I have a Sony Vaio with 64 mb of ram, and another with 128 mb ram. I have a Sony Vaio CD ROM PC card accessory. But the ISO is 753 mb, correct? I can try writing GXP41 to a CD. I would love to have GXP running on one of my vintage Sony Vaios.

Re: Geek XP
I installed GXP41 on my Dell using a small 60 GB IDE drive and it worked fine. Then I tried a 128GB CF and it only let me format 32 GB.
Re: Geek XP
Thank you so much for creating this ! I have an XP-only critical application (badly written and source code long gone) that has been giving me sleepless nights for years and no other solution has worked for me (compatibility modes, Virtual PC/XP mode, Wine...) I was down to one "magic computer" that ran it. With Geek XP and VirtualBox I can run it on my shiny new Win 10 machine like a dream.
I do have a couple of questions:
- Is activation going to be required ? I can't find any mention here and I can't find the normal ways I would look in XP for activation status
- How can I make a contribution for all your work on this ?
