Alternative Shells for Windows NT 6.X

Post by TiernanFlynn » Thu May 31, 2018 7:07 am

Does anyone know if alternative shells for Windows NT 6+ exist? I’ve seen references to alternative shells in .ini code I’ve wandered through.

For example, Windows 3.1 had the Windows 4.0.499 alternative shell made for it.

Do any skin-packs include alternative shells?

(This is just an experiment, sorry if I screw up your PC), but have you considered replacing explorer.exe with the Windows XP version? I'll reply if this worked or not. I'm doing this myself.

bumptop shell is an option too
