Windows 10 help

Post by RCALLISTER » Thu Jun 01, 2017 12:46 pm

Hey guys, Reece here

im known as the techie around my way but i have been struggling to install win10 on a machine.

i know what you are thinking, a techie, who can't install windows, what a noob

well ill tell you the specs because it does match the minimum requirements(i think)

Athlon 64 3700+
4db ddr 400 ram
some asus mobo
ati avivo x1600 gpu

Its strange because it never actually get to the setup, it just displays the blue windows logo

it can install win 9x up to 8. but not 8.1 or 10 with almost everything.

i have tried multiple ways of installing 10. like dvd, usb, wintohdd/wintousb
if anyone has any other ways that i could install it or has reasons why i cant install

thanks, Reece

But that's the thing, I have seen older PC run 10 and 8.1

I'm just confused why the setup never loads and even if I install it directly to the hard disk it never loads. Now, I am a patient person and I left it on whilst I was at school but it still had the same blue windows logo like it did that morning.

What I am thinking is that the Mobo doesn't like it or something.

maybe it depends on the specs. But since 8.0 isn't supported I'd stick with Windows 7 if you have a copy of 7.

It could be a spec issue. I've had trouble installing 10 on hardware that is about as old as that processor and it did the same thing- hung on the logo screen.
