Desktop Architect - Desktop Themes (Themes.exe) alternative for Classic Windows

Post by Wadmodder » Mon Jul 06, 2020 6:54 am

We currently all know about Microsoft Plus! For Windows 95 introducing Desktop Themes (and it's executable file Themes.exe) for users to customize their Windows desktop. Similar functionality would appear in later versions of Windows, starting with XP in 2001. But there was also a third-party alternative called Desktop Architect.

It was created by Ken Foster, and included additional customization for Screensavers, Wallpapers, Desktop Icons, Mouse Cursors, & Sound Effects. It also included two setup wizards, called the Theme Package Wizard & Theme Install Wizard, and a Theme Scheduler feature where the user could automatically set Desktop Themes at a specific time of year.

This is technically a more advanced version of the Desktop Themes control panel in Windows 9x, and is compatible with Windows 95, 98, 2000, and ME.

Here is a Themeworld download link to this program: ... /

I want to see a review of this program in action/showcased on a Windows 2000 VM. It would also be interesting to see some custom Microsoft Plus! Desktop Themes that were released between 1995 up until 2007 in action.
