Microsoft Home

Post by TheCanadianToast » Sat Feb 11, 2017 8:57 pm

Anybody remember this logo? ;)

Image

Microsoft Home was Microsoft's line of computer software and hardware products during the 1990's era originally for both Windows 3.1 & Windows 95.

I remember, having Microsoft Fury3 and also Magic School Bus: Explores The Ocean or Solar System all on discs, I can't remember. I also remember having the Monster Truck Madness 1 disc but I don't think that Monster Truck Madness was a part of Microsoft Home though...

This does really take me back to my childhood days... :(

More Info about Microsoft Home on it's Wikipedia article page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Home

Microsoft Bob, was a part of Microsoft Home, but as we all know it by now, Microsoft Bob was a highly criticized computer software and was deemed as a failure on Microsoft's part...

Your Thoughts?

I remember being fascinated with Microsoft Bob as a kid, when I found out about it on YouTube. The only thing was that I didn't know where to get it, since it was a discontinued application when I first heard about it. It wasn't until this year when I finally installed it on my Windows 98 and 2000 virtual machines on VMware. I tested it out on my Win2000 VM, and it worked fine. It seemed like a typical 90s program made for PCs, especially those who were starting to get into computers at the time. As for the Microsoft Home brand, it just seems to be rather dull for the most part. Although to 90s Microsoft veterans, it was like a vital program for home and business use.

Oh man, those were the DAYS. I remember seeing so many Home products back on my old Microsoft Expedition CD. It was so aesthetical.

SPEAKING of aesthetic, there were a couple of vaporwave albums using a variant of the Home logo created by Vektroid a few years back (you know them as MACINTOSH PLUS):

Ah, Microsoft Home. Would be cool to do a video taking a look at these programs sometime. I've done one on Microsoft Bob already, but I'm sure everybody knows how big of a failure that was.
