Will my pc work with 2 2GB ram sticks and 2 4GB ram sticks?

I have a Dell optiplex 790, will my pc work if it has 2 2GB ram sticks and 2 4GB ram stick?

Lol, I forgot to say that I did try it and it works, I now have 12 GB of ram

I basically have done that but on a larger scale for my past two PC's and my laptop before I finally gave it 32GB of RAM.
