Why does android slow down?

Post by ShinyElGhosteo » Wed Feb 01, 2017 3:44 am

My main phone is an iPhone 5S but for a while I also used a Galaxy note 3 as an iPod/Tablet. I've noticed that the iPhone is still as fast as ever but the Note just got slower and is always lagging up when doing basic tasks. I've tried cleaner tools but I swear those just make it worse and I've also factory reset it before and it helps for a bit then it goes back to normal. All i used it for was spotify, local music, and youtube but now I don't even use it at all because I bought an iPod Nano 7th.
I know this isn't just the case with my Note though. All my friends who have android phones tend to say the same thing, "It used to be faster".

Hi! Try going to xda-developers and finding any ROM you like, and flash it! Your note 3 will be good as new, BUT you will need to unlock bootloader and install a custom recovery ex: TWRP, CWM, :D

Hello go to xda-developers and find any rom you like and search for stable android 7.1.1 build with no bugs and the note 3 will be good as new BUT you need to unlock bootloader and you need custom recovery ex: TWRP, CWM, :D
That is a good idea, but it is not ideal for someone who is not familiar with the Android ecosystem too well.

I am not familiar at all. The most I know how to do is add different launchers and thats about it. Besides I meant this more as android in general and not just my note. Myself and many others do not want to root our devices just to get a decent speed.

Rooting won't give better performance on it's own.

android slows down because of degradation.
just like any os; mobile or not, it will slow down over time
i recommend factory resetting or doing a cleanup (removing apps you dont use, clearing cache, etc)
lemme just push this into the center uuuuuguuuuuuuuuImage

It's more likely to run on an older mobile phone, if that's the case.
