Re: Hunting down a CRT monitor
I have looked high and low to find an old dell CRT display with no luck. For a while you couldn't get rid of them but now that I want one it seems like they are all gone. The only place I can find them is online at a very high price. Anyone know where to find old screens like this for cheap? Check ...

Re: Favorite Linux Distros?
Well, I did today what my friends say I always do: I went back to Fedora! I just didn't feel satisfied with any of the desktops that Ubuntu had to offer (as official distros), so I installed Fedora 25 with Cinnamon on my spare PC and really liked it, so I switched on all my PCs! I really have a prob...

Re: Windows 2000
Although it was made for businesses I always saw home computers with it. Guess it was just that good. My dentist actually still has 2000 machines in use along side 7 machines so when they are doing dental work i usually watch the pipes screensaver. I remember my first experience with Windows 2000 b...

Re: Intel VIIV in 2017
Hi, At my house I have ubuntu 16.04 running on an Intel VIIV. It isn't that slow, but i'm surprised that it still works today, even on Ubuntu 16.04 What CPU does that correspond to? I remember Intel VIIV, but I thought it was like Centrino in that it represents a set of hardware (like I have a Core...

Re: 256-Colors (Windows NT 4.0)
Did you install NT4 Service Pack 6? I know most stuff in NT4 doesn't work correctly without it.FlamingApple wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2017 11:16 pmHello, Does anyone know how to install 256 colors in Windows NT 4.0? I have tried installing V-Box Guest Additions and Parallels tools. I do not have acess to VMware.

Re: How many of the rammies do you have?
My desktop and laptop both have 8 GB RAM (DDR3-1600/DDR3L-1600). The desktop has two 4 GB sticks and can handle up to 32 GB, my laptop has only one RAM slot and can't take any more than 8 GB, but it's more than enough for me. My Core 2 Duo laptop has 4 GB (DDR2-800), my Windows XP machine has 1 GB (...

Re: Core 2 Duo in 2017
Another example of a Core 2 Duo in 2017 is VWestlife from YouTube. He has a Thinkpad X60 from IBM/Lenovo with a C2D. I think his main desktop is also a Core 2 Duo. He used an i5 for a while, but he didn't like that system (I can't recall why), so he reverted to the Core 2 Duo Compaq, which is now i...

Re: YouTube and Spotify on G3 10.4
Another site to look at, if you're looking for software to run on your G3 in general, is http://macintoshgarden.org/. Most of their software is for OS 9, but maybe you could at least find some old games or something to run on it.

Re: YouTube and Spotify on G3 10.4
I don't remember which website I saw it from but I remember it being a pretty old version of it. Older than the one required to run on 10.5. Maybe it was just misinformation. I remember that YouTube change as well. It finally killed the old YouTube app on iOS 5 and below as well as the last version...

Re: What CPU do you use?
My desktop is an AMD A4-6300B (I got the PC for $60 on eBay last year, practically a steal).
My laptop is an Intel Core i3-4030U.
My old laptop (which I occasionally use) is a Core 2 Duo T6600.
