[REQUEST] Windows Vista Ultimate Extras (2008) - Time Travel
We all know about the Microsoft Plus! Series that has been apart of Windows since Windows 95 and came to it's ultimate demise after Windows XP. However, Windows Vista introduced a new way of getting Plus! based features, but it was exclusive to Windows Vista Ultimate. Appropriately, they were named ...

Windows Longhorn Build 4093 in VMWare: Getting Sound To Work
Does anyone know how I can get sound in Windows Longhorn (build 4093) to work in VMWare 15.5? I have installed many driverpacks and have went to device management, but Device Management doesn't even have an option for sound. I have tried all the packs I could find. Some gave me an error saying that ...

Question regarding the new links policy
Since Michael has updated the rules regarding the disabling of Windows version download links later than XP (including XP) due to copyright issues, and since he has comments disabled for that post, I was wondering something in my head, are beta versions of Windows allowed? (Whistler, Longhorn, NT 5,...

Windows Lunix 2013
Someone has created a custom version of Windows XP called Windows Lunix 2013. This is not a typo, this is exactly how it is spelled. It appears to have a lot of themes from a bunch of different operating systems and also includes your typical third party apps. Though nowadays it's hard to find a ver...

TeamOS - a group dedicated to making custom Windows operating Systems
Has anyone ever heard of the group TeamOS? They make custom versions of Windows XP, 7, 8.1 and 10. They created versions of Windows like Windows XP Neomax Edition and Windows 7 Poison Edition. They have some regular plane activated versions of Windows as well, but their main focus is unofficial Wind...

Re: Windows Longhorn/Vista Beta sounds
I think one of the sounds (the startup sound) was used for Windows Messenger. Could be wrong, though. (Taken from my old WIndows 7 laptop that had a sound called ContactOnline.wav which was the startup sound).

Re: Cool Windows 8 Beta Builds
To answer someone else's question, the beta builds of Windows 8 looked identical or close to similar to 7 until the Windows 8 developer preview officially released. So builds 7850-8056 were almost exactly like Windows 7.

Re: Is Microsoft Killing The Control Panel?
Sadly, yes. This is going to effect users drastically, especially with the sound events and text-to-speech settings. There won't be as much control as their used to be with previous versions. Moving to this new settings application could be a huge disaster or it could be good, depending on how micro...
